Important for Tourists in Bali
Bali is part of Indonesia. Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia, but it does not share the same time zone with Bali. Bali time is one hour ahead of Jakarta. Bali has only one Time Zone.
Bali is within WITA, Indonesia Central Time Zone (UTC+08:00)
WITA or Waktu Indonesia Tengah is 8 hours ahead of UTC, Coordinated Universal Time.
Like most Southeast Asian countries and tropical islands, the Sanur area is hot and humid!
Throughout the year there are times when it is less humid and less hot but only a few degrees. Sanur Bali has two distinct seasons, the dry season and the rainy season.
The best season to visit Bali is during the dry season from April to October. Our favorite months to visit Bali are around February and September. Sanur is quieter these months and there are some great deals at that time on airfare and accommodation too.
The official currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah. You will see it written as Rp.
Money can be easily exchanged at registered money changers, but beware of dodgy-looking signs offering well above the usual rate. A good rule of thumb to remember is that the best money changer in Bali including Sanur is to use one that is free of commission. Beware of money changers behind shops or small streets.
